For forty-five years, Nova Musica has been part of the Edmonton music community. It is a nonprofit, registered charitable organization established in 1982. The society’s mission is to provide opportunities for adult amateur musicians in the Edmonton community to continue to develop their musicianship through performance and instruction within an orchestral ensemble.
Nova Musica orchestra members represent a wide diversity of ages, professions, and musical training. They are devoted to their passion for creating quality symphonic music. The ensemble rehearses weekly during its annual September to June performance season.
The Nova Musica Board
Nova Musica is governed by a board of members, elected each fall at its annual general meeting. All board positions, except the music director, are volunteer positions. Board members serve in various roles to ensure Nova Musica continues to function smoothly as a community organization.
